About CrossFit Akron
CrossFit Akron was conceived June 2010 and affiliated July 2010 by Josh Felber and Brian Parana. We founded this gym on the concept of hard work and dedication. We opened up our first location at 65 Westgate Circle in Akron, OH. With a handful of athletes on day one, we have quickly grown over the last year with our members and staff. Currently, CrossFit Akron has 6 coaches and a media director.
CrossFit Akron offers 100% CrossFit. Our programs include OnRamp (a CrossFit readiness program), CrossFit classes, CrossFit Swimming, Endurance training, Corporate Wellness programs, and One on One training. Our programs offer up the best that CrossFit has to offer, from our Coaching to our Programming. We keep our class sizes low so that you can experience optimal personal attention from coaches to help you succeed and reach your goals. We believe in building strong relationships and strong bonds through fitness.

Together we sweat, we bleed, we expose weaknesses and we get stronger…together. The community aspect of CrossFit Akron is our greatest strength. What Is CrossFit?
CrossFit is a fitness and conditioning system developed by Coach Greg Glassman. The methodology is by design to be broad, general, and inclusive. Its specialty is in not specializing, and its workouts elicit a maximal neuro-endocrine response from your body by taxing your body to its core with variety (always something different), intensity, and multiple joint, full body, functional movements (that which replicates real life movement).

CrossFit has been called “The Sport of Fitness” because it re-introduces personal athletic achievement and performance to training. The mindset at the start of each workout is to be stronger, move faster, more efficiently, with better form than ever. Its hard, fun, exciting, challenging, and will push you to be your absolute best!
One of the things that makes CrossFit unique is that it addresses the fact that the fitness needs of an “Average Joe” are identical to that of a top athlete – the only difference being intensity and volume. This means that we are able to train the high school athlete and the out of shape middle aged weekend warrior.

We love social media. All of our coaches and staff have blogs, our programs have blogs and we use Twitter and Facebook to communicate on a daily basis. We publish up-to-date content, information, pictures, and videos. We start conversations, inspire and pursue excellence through these various platforms. Training Packages
CrossFit Akron is not a gym we are a training facility. We don’t compete on cost, we compete on quality; quality staff, quality training, quality customer service, quality PERIOD. If you are looking for bargain priced fitness, please check the others out before visiting our community so that you can see and feel the difference.
Our packages come with the support and training of our coaches along with our wonderful community that will motivate and help you to reach your goals. Our training packages provide all this at a fraction of the cost of a private session at a typical commercial gym. Training packages are determined depending on your dedication and commitment level.
CrossFit Coached Wanted
JOB TITLE: CrossFit Coach
OVERVIEW: To provide coaching and training to assigned groups of athletes using the CrossFit methodologies and to ensure safety and facilitate performance towards planned goals.
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:
· Coach or Assist in coaching pre-programmed WODS.
· Attend weekly and monthly staff and coaching meetings.
· Participate in coaching special events, challenges, and monthly community workouts.
· Provide body assessments to all new clients and 60-90 day follow up assessments.
REPORTING STRUCTURE: Report to assigned mentor and Coach’s Advisory Board
QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum of one year of group and/or CrossFit coaching experience. Proven success with sales, client recruitment, and program development. Outstanding communication skills including, email, public speaking, and small group interactions. Excellent listening skills. Team player.
TRAINING REQUIRED:
· Minimum of 1 year CrossFit coaching experience at establish affiliate
· Level 1 CrossFit Certified*
· Two additional CrossFit Certifications strongly recommended
· 360 hours of CrossFit Akron Mentorship program
· Commitment to attend Dani Johnson’s FIRST STEPS seminar and Tony Robbins UPW within 1 yr of hire.
PERFORMANCE APPRAISAL: Quarterly, semi-annual, annual.
COMPENSATION: Commensurate with experience. This is a paid position pending completion of the CrossFit Akron mentorship. We are looking for an excellent coach who is well versed in the CrossFit methodology. We have long term growth opportunities available for the right person(s) willing to prove themselves capable, responsible, and trustworthy. Our pay scale is the highest in the local area and only serious applicants need apply. Some benefits are included: 401K, Vacation time. Relocation negotiable.
